Classic Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing
This versatile blue cheese dressing is perfect for drizzling over salads, dipping your favorite veggies, or serving alongside buffalo wings.
enzo81.xyzIf you love blue cheese as much as I do, this dressing will quickly become a staple in your fridge. It strikes that perfect balance of being creamy enough for a salad, but thick enough to cling to a vegetable stick or a hot chicken wing.
The best part about making this at home is that you can control the intensity of the flavor. Choose a sharp Roquefort if you want a bold punch, or opt for a mild Blue Castello if you prefer something a bit more mellow and buttery.
Ingredients
- 100g creamy blue cheese of your choice
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup whole egg mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
4Instructions
- 1
Place the blue cheese in a medium bowl and mash it with a fork until it is crumbly.
- 2
Add the buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, and apple cider vinegar to the bowl.
- 3
Whisk everything vigorously for about 15 seconds until the ingredients are well combined, leaving some small chunks of cheese for texture.
- 4
Taste the dressing and serve immediately, or store it in the fridge until you are ready to eat.
Tips
Store your leftover dressing in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to five days. If you want a completely smooth dressing instead of a chunky one, simply use a stick blender to combine all the ingredients until velvety.
