There is something special about biting into a soft, pillowy bun filled with rich cheesecake and juicy berries. These are perfect for a weekend brunch when you want to treat yourself to something that tastes like it came straight from a fancy bakery.

If you have ever made cinnamon rolls before, you will find this process quite familiar. The dough is easy to work with and the filling comes together in minutes. Just make sure your cream cheese is soft so everything blends together perfectly.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

10Instructions

  1. 1

Whisk the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.

  2. 2

Pour in the warm milk, melted butter, and egg, then mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. 3

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for one hour.

  5. 5

Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla together in a small bowl until smooth.

  6. 6

Punch the dough down and roll it out into a large rectangle.

  7. 7

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough and sprinkle the blueberries on top.

  8. 8

Roll the dough into a tight log and cut it into 8 equal pieces.

  9. 9

Place the rolls in a greased baking pan and let them rise again for 30 minutes.

  10. 10

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes until the tops are golden brown.

Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can warm them up in the microwave for 15 seconds to make them soft again. These buns go great with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
