Easy Baked Creamy Sausage Rigatoni
This one pan pasta dish is a cozy weeknight meal that comes together without boiling a single pot of water.
enzo81.xyzThere is nothing better than a dinner that cleans up easily after a long day. This creamy sausage pasta is a favorite in my house because it relies on the oven to cook the noodles directly in the sauce, saving you time and extra dishes to wash.
My best advice is to make sure your baking dish is large enough to hold everything comfortably. If you want a little extra color, turn on the broiler for the last two minutes to get the cheese nice and bubbly.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 pound dry rigatoni pasta
- 1 jar (15 ounces) Alfredo sauce
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
8Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2
Brown the Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until it is cooked through, breaking it into small pieces with a spoon.
- 3
In a 9x13 inch baking dish, combine the uncooked pasta, cooked sausage, Alfredo sauce, diced tomatoes with their juices, chicken broth, and Italian seasoning.
- 4
Stir the mixture well so the pasta is mostly submerged in the liquid.
- 5
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- 6
Bake for 35 minutes or until the pasta is tender.
- 7
Remove the foil, stir the pasta, and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
- 8
Return to the oven uncovered for 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can add a splash of milk or water when reheating to loosen up the sauce. This dish pairs perfectly with a crisp side salad or some toasted garlic bread.
