Creamy Homemade Hemp Milk
A quick and nutritious plant based milk that requires no soaking and tastes wonderful.
enzo81.xyzMaking your own hemp milk at home is surprisingly easy and you do not even need to soak the seeds beforehand. It has a lovely creamy texture and provides a great amount of plant based protein for your day.
I love serving this to my family because it feels so wholesome and simple. If you have a picky eater, try adding a little cocoa powder and maple syrup to turn it into a sweet chocolate treat.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shelled hemp hearts
- 4 cups water
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or 1 pitted date (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
5Instructions
- 1
Add the hemp hearts and water to a high speed blender.
- 2
Include any sweeteners or flavorings like salt, vanilla, or maple syrup if you want a little extra flavor.
- 3
Blend on high for about one minute until the mixture looks smooth and creamy.
- 4
Pour the milk into a glass jar or bottle without straining, as the seeds blend beautifully.
- 5
Store the milk in the refrigerator and give it a good shake before you use it.
Tips
Keep your hemp milk in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to five days. Since it does not have stabilizers, it will separate naturally, so just shake it up before pouring into your glass or coffee.
