Easy Caramel Apple Nachos
A fun and simple way to enjoy apples that tastes just like a carnival treat.
enzo81.xyzI absolutely love these caramel apple nachos because they are so much easier to eat than traditional caramel apples. You get all the sweet and crunchy goodness without any of the messy dipping or waiting for them to set.
They are perfect for a quick afternoon snack or a fun dessert for the kids. My favorite tip is to keep the apple slices in a bowl of cold water with a little lemon juice for a few minutes before assembling so they stay bright and crisp while you get your toppings ready.
Ingredients
- 2 large crisp apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts or walnuts
- 1 tablespoon toffee bits or mini marshmallows
6Instructions
- 1
Core your apples and slice them into thin wedges.
- 2
Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on a large serving platter.
- 3
Place the chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl and heat in 20 second intervals until smooth and melted.
- 4
Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the apple slices.
- 5
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the caramel.
- 6
Sprinkle with the chopped nuts and toffee bits or marshmallows before serving.
Tips
These are best enjoyed right away so the apples stay fresh. If you have leftovers, store the apples in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one day. You can swap the nuts for sunflower seeds if you need to keep this recipe nut free.
