Crispy Baked Jerk Chicken Wings
These spicy and crispy wings bring all the bold flavors of the islands right into your own oven.
enzo81.xyzThere is something special about the combination of heat and spice in jerk seasoning. These wings are a favorite in our house because you get that restaurant quality crunch without needing to heat up a deep fryer.
I love making these for game day or when friends come over for a casual backyard hangout. If you want an extra crunch, be sure to pat the wings completely dry with paper towels before you add the seasoning.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup store bought jerk marinade or sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
7Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Pat the chicken wings very dry using paper towels to ensure they get nice and crispy.
- 3
Place the wings in a large bowl and toss them with the baking powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- 4
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 5
While the wings bake, whisk together the jerk marinade, honey, and melted butter in a small bowl.
- 6
Once the wings are cooked, move them to a large mixing bowl and toss them thoroughly with the jerk sauce mixture.
- 7
Serve immediately with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.
Tips
These wings are best enjoyed warm straight from the oven. If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days and reheat them in the oven to keep the skin crisp.
