There is something special about having a bowl of homemade fry sauce ready for burger night. It brings together a wonderful mix of sweet, tangy, and smoky flavors that store bought versions just cannot match. It is a total crowd pleaser that brings the restaurant experience right to your kitchen table.

My best tip is to mix this up at least thirty minutes before you plan to eat. Letting it sit in the fridge gives the flavors a chance to meld together, which makes the taste much better. You can easily double the batch if you are feeding a larger group.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon pickle juice or white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

4Instructions

  1. 1

Get a small mixing bowl and add the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, smoked paprika, pickle juice, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

Use a whisk or a fork to stir everything together until the sauce is smooth and the color is uniform.

  3. 3

Taste the sauce and add a tiny pinch of salt or pepper if you feel it needs a bit more seasoning.

  4. 4

Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least thirty minutes before serving.

Tips

Store any leftover sauce in a small airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. It tastes great on burgers, sandwiches, or even as a dip for fresh vegetables. If you like a little heat, add a dash of your favorite hot sauce.
