If you love a good wing night, these gold fever wings are going to become a fast favorite in your house. The sauce is a simple but delicious mix of honey mustard, melted butter, and hot sauce that packs a punch of flavor in every bite.

I love that we can get such a satisfying crunch in the oven without needing to deep fry. These wings are perfect for game day gatherings or a casual dinner when you want something fun and flavorful to share.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey mustard
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce

9Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with foil, placing a wire rack on top for better air circulation.

  2. 2

Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy.

  3. 3

In a small bowl, mix the baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. 4

Place the wings in a large bowl and sprinkle the seasoning mixture over them, tossing well to coat.

  5. 5

Arrange the wings on the wire rack in a single layer and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

  6. 6

Flip the wings and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes until they are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

  7. 7

While the wings are baking, combine the honey mustard, hot sauce, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  8. 8

Stir the sauce for about 5 minutes until the butter is melted and the sauce has thickened slightly.

  9. 9

Toss the cooked wings in the sauce before serving, or keep the sauce on the side for dipping.

Tips

Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them back in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes so they regain their crispy texture.
