Halloween Spaghetti with Mozzarella Eyeballs
A fun and spooky pasta dish that brings a festive mood to your dinner table.
enzo81.xyzThis playful spaghetti recipe is a huge hit during the Halloween season. It looks a bit spooky with its staring eyes, but it is actually a comforting and delicious meal that the whole family will enjoy eating together.
To keep things easy, I use store bought mozzarella pearls and olives for the eyes. It takes very little extra time to put together, making it a perfect quick dinner on a busy October night.
Ingredients
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 24 ounces of your favorite marinara sauce
- 20 fresh mozzarella pearls
- 20 pitted black olives, sliced in half
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parmesan cheese for serving
6Instructions
- 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until it is al dente.
- 2
While the pasta cooks, warm the marinara sauce in a large pan over medium heat.
- 3
Assemble the eyeballs by placing a half slice of olive onto the center of each mozzarella pearl.
- 4
Drain the pasta and toss it directly into the pan with the marinara sauce, coating the noodles well.
- 5
Transfer the pasta to serving bowls and tuck the prepared mozzarella eyeballs into the spaghetti so they peek out from the top.
- 6
Serve immediately with a generous sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. If you want a little extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. This dish is great when served alongside a crisp green salad.
