Perfect Microwave Corn on the Cob
This is the easiest way to get sweet, juicy corn on the table without any messy shucking.
enzo81.xyzIf you struggle with silk getting stuck to your corn, this method is going to change your life. Cooking the corn right in its husk keeps all the moisture inside, which makes the kernels incredibly tender and sweet every single time.
My favorite part is how clean the process is. Once the corn is done, you just snip the end and slide the cob out. Most of the silk stays behind in the husk, so you barely have to do any prep work at all.
Ingredients
- 2 ears of fresh corn in the husk
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
7Instructions
- 1
Place the corn ears directly into the microwave while they are still in their husks.
- 2
Microwave on high for 4 minutes for two ears, or about 2 minutes if you are only cooking one.
- 3
Let the corn sit in the microwave for 2 minutes so it can finish steaming safely.
- 4
Use a towel or oven mitt to hold the hot corn.
- 5
Carefully cut off the stem end of the corn about one inch from the bottom.
- 6
Squeeze the silk end of the husk and the corn should slide right out perfectly clean.
- 7
Remove any remaining stray silk, add butter or seasoning if you like, and serve immediately.
Tips
Serve this corn immediately while it is piping hot for the best texture. If you have leftovers, you can store the cooked cobs in the fridge for a day or two and reheat them quickly in the microwave. This makes a great side dish for busy weeknights.
